As for the furnishings in Qin Keqing's room, Cao Xueqin introduced twelve people and things one by one, which happened to correspond to the twelve hairpins of Jinling. The so-called Jia Baoyu's sleepwalking in Taixu Illusion is a dream in Qin Keqing's room. Each of the twelve people and things is the epitome of a "golden hairpin" life. As mentioned above, "Tang Bohu" corresponds to Jia Xichun. This article will talk about "Begonia Sleeping in Spring" painted by Tang Bohu in order.
Tang Bohu never painted "Begonia Sleeping in Spring", nor did Qin Taixu write this couplet. Cao Xueqin made up the article to allude to Tang Bohu and Qin Taixu. Qin is Qin Keqing, and Taixu is the illusion of Taixu. Qin Keqing's room is the illusion of Taixu. The painter Tang Bohu insinuated that Xichun was good at painting, so what happened to "Begonia Sleeping in Spring" was not painted by Tang Bohu?
According to Song Shi Huihong's "Lengzhai Night Talk", Emperor Ming of the Tang Dynasty was unable to pay homage to Concubine Yang because she was hungover. He said with a smile: "My concubine is so drunk that Haitang has not slept enough!"
It is said that Tang Yin of the Ming Dynasty painted a picture of "Begonia Beauty" based on this, but there is no evidence. The third volume of "The Complete Works of Liuru Layman" contains the poem "Inscribed on Begonia Beauty":
The makeup on the face has faded away from the east wind, pitiful for the butterfly powder and the crazy bee.
Who can say the meaning from now on, a heart of spring is blooming in Begonia.
Tang Bohu's "Begonia Beauty Picture" cannot be tested, and "Begonia Sleeping in Spring Picture" was made up by Cao Xueqin. There are two specific purposes.
First, Qin Keqing and Jia Rong were newly married, and their wedding room must have been beautifully and fragrantly decorated. "Begonia Sleeping in Spring" fits the wedding room furnishings and is also in line with the licentious style of Ningguo Mansion.
Secondly, "Begonia Sleeping in Spring" is one of the twelve people and things in Qin Keqing's room, corresponding to Shi Xiangyun, one of the twelve hairpins in Jinling, "Drunk and Lying on Peony Yin".
Shi Xiangyun's drunken sleep on peony leaves is exactly the same as Yang Guifei's "Begonia Spring Sleep". These coincidences must have been deliberate by Cao Xueqin. It does not involve eroticism, but expresses Shi Xiangyun's cuteness and cuteness.
Everyone in the Grand View Garden had a flower lot. In the sixty-third episode of the Qunfang Night Banquet, Shi Xiangyun got the "Begonia flower lot".
Lin Daiyu's joke of changing the word 'midnight' to the word 'shiliang' is exactly the link between "Begonia Sleeping in Spring" and "Shi Xiangyun drunk and lying on peony fungus" . "I'm afraid the flowers will fall asleep late at night" comes from Su Dongpo's famous poem "Begonia", which is based on the allusion of "Begonia sleeps in spring":
The east wind is full of glory, and the fragrant mist is filled with moonlight in the corridor.
I am afraid that the flower will fall asleep late at night, so I burn a high candle to illuminate my red makeup.
Just like Lin Daiyu’s natal flower is hibiscus, Xue Baochai’s natal flower is peony, Shi Xiangyun’s natal flower is “begonia”. The begonia flower sign "is only for fear that the flower will fall asleep late at night", further confirming the connection between Shi Xiangyun and "Begonia Sleeping in Spring".
In "A Dream of Red Mansions", Haitang is mostly related to Shi Xiangyun. In addition to "Begonia Flower Sign", although "Begonia Poetry Society" was initiated by Jia Tanchun, Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai became famous for a while, but in the end Shi Xiangyun became the protagonist. Not only was he eager to be taken to Jia's house, but he also composed two excellent "Begonia Poems" in succession, which were called the crown.
Begonia is often called "Langyuan Fairy Flower" by the ancients. It was originally a flower that was grown in front of the golden and jade hall of a wealthy family in the deep palace. It is also consistent with the allusion of Yang Guifei's "Begonia sleeps in spring". And "Langyuan Immortal Flower" is a must-have saying for ancient literati to sing about Begonia.
Li Shen of the Tang Dynasty wrote in his "Begonia Poems" that "the strange trees on the seaside grow wonderfully colorful, I know they are planted in the fairy mountain. I heard about Langyuan in the book of Qiong Rui, and I saw Penglai in the picture of purple zhi." In "Begonia" by Lu You of the Song Dynasty, "Sichuan's famous flowers are good at ancient and modern times, and one branch can overwhelm a thousand forests." The "Sichuan" refers to Langzhong, Langyuan in the sky, and Langzhong on the ground. The ancients often used Langzhong instead of Langyuan.
The reason why "Wang Ning Mei" cannot be Bao Dai's love tragedy is because Lin Daiyu's natal flower is "hibiscus flower". The ancients used allusions very neatly. Cao Xue would never use "Langyuan Xianpa" to refer to "hibiscus flower". What's more, the purple pearl grass grows on the bank of Sansheng Stone on the bank of Linghe River in the west. Where does "Langyuan" come from, and how can it be said to be "fairy flower"? "Pa" refers to flowers rather than grass. Cao Xueqin, a literary master, would not make such a mistake. "Langyuan Xianpa" refers to Shi Xiangyun's Begonia flower.
There are two pieces of music: "Lifelong Mistake" and "Wang Ningmei". "Lifelong Mistake" is the love tragedy of Bao Daichai and the three people, and "Wang Ningmei" is the emotional entanglement between Jia Baoyu and several other people. The twelve songs of "A Dream of Red Mansions" are mainly narrative, and the judgments of "The Twelve Hairpins of Jinling" correspond to the individuals of the Twelve Hairpins of Jinling.
So, "One is Langyuan Xianpa" originally refers to the "two 'loving' brothers" between Jia Baoyu and Shi Xiangyun. As for the "I wonder how many tears can be in my eyes, how can they flow from autumn to winter, and from spring to summer", it refers to the separation of women after Qingwen died in Qiu, and Jia Baoyu lost a sister. I cried once for parting feelings until I became a monk after ransacking my house. You can't be Lin Daiyu when it comes to tears.
After Shi Xiangyun married Feng Ziying, he was "happy first and then sad" and became a widow, which made Jia Baoyu unable to bear tears. And "Begonia flower sign", "I'm afraid the flowers will fall asleep late at night", which is based on Shi Xiangyun's "sweet dream", implying that she was miserable and couldn't bear to wake her up. It is in line with the mood of Tang Minghuang who couldn't bear to wake up Concubine Yang during "Begonia's Spring Sleep".
