Stone clams feed on insects as adults. They are fed earthworms, fly maggots and compound feeds in artificial breeding. During the tadpole period, they eat plankton.
Adult frogs are generally 10-20cm long and weigh 250-350g, with the largest reaching 500g. The water temperature for the growth of stone frogs is 12-24℃, and the optimal temperature is 18-22℃. The tadpole stage eats plankton, and the adult frog mainly eats insects. Artificial breeding can be fed with earthworms, fly larvae and compound feed. When there is insufficient food, large frogs will eat small frogs. When the temperature drops below 10°C, stone frogs begin to hibernate at the bottom of the water or among weeds in the water. When the temperature rises above 10°C, hibernation ends and feeding activities begin.
