1) It seems that there are few tortoiseshell powder on sale in the supermarket. I bought it on Taobao. About 250g~300g of a bag of Wuzhou Shuangqian brand Guiling Cream powder only needs 10~ 15 yuan/bag. This is the best brand. Other brands are cheaper.
2) When eating with a porcelain spoon, scoop a spoonful of powder flatly, it doesn't matter if it is a little higher than the spoon. Don't pile it in a high cone, it will be too much (the spoon should be dry, and there can't be water, otherwise the powder will stick to it and be wasted), and then gently put it into an ordinary small bowl to eat (the powder is very fine and too light, and it will rise like smoke if it is put heavy, which will choke people and make it difficult to clean up).
Tip: Stir evenly with a small amount of water (the capacity of the small bowl is limited to 1/3, and no more), and stir in one direction to form a paste without particles or unmixed powder. The thickness is similar to that of baby rice noodles eaten by children.
3) Fill a bowl of water with a small bowl of the same size, put it in a pot and boil it until it boils (the water must be boiled, but it must not be boiled for too long), turn to low heat, and slowly pour the paste into the pot, stirring while pouring it to prevent the bottom from burning. Just after pouring, particles may be produced due to uneven thickness. Don't be busy with the pot, turn up the fire and stir slowly until it becomes a smooth and dense paste with almost no particles.
Tip: After adding hot water, the thickness should be at least the same as that of instant lotus root starch. Otherwise, the paste has no q feeling and is too tender. If it is too thick, it is best not to pour it into other utensils, but to condense and shape it directly in the pot, otherwise it will waste a lot.
4) Turn off the fire, quickly pour the pasty turtle ling paste in the pot into a clean small bowl (it is easy to coagulate when it moves slowly), and let it stand and cool naturally. Let it cool naturally, condense into solid, and then put it in the refrigerator for refrigeration. Otherwise, the temperature drops too fast and the condensation may fail. And it's not good for the refrigerator.
Tip: if there is a wall hanging phenomenon, don't feel too bad. Just wait for the turtle paste on the pot wall to solidify and gently poke it away with chopsticks. That thin layer of turtle ling cream is also delicious. And the pot will be clean and easy to clean.
5) Solidification generally takes 15 minutes (if it is not completely solidified after more than 20 minutes, the production failure can be confirmed). When you want to eat, you can invert it, cut it into small pieces with a knife, and season it with honey, sugar water, condensed milk, etc. You can eat it.
Tip: I like eating Q, so I have to cut it with a knife. If the degree of solidification is tender, scrape it gently with a knife. Or eat it directly with a metal spoon. (However, in this way, the degree of solidification is at most similar to that of edible jelly. Honey is not easy to stir evenly, and it is easy to eat the bitter taste of Guiling Ointment. I don't like > _<)
Page (short for page) Student:
(1) If Guiling ointment is bitter, you can add sugar or osmanthus when boiling water (I recommend osmanthus, which is very fragrant). If you use osmanthus, you'd better filter out the petals.
(2) Don't put too much powder for the excessive pursuit of Q-feeling, otherwise the condensation will also fail and become uneven mud. If the water temperature is not enough, it will turn into mud > _ & lt||||
(3) If you do it yourself, there will be uneven particles no matter how careful you are. If you want the paste to be fine and have no obvious particles, you can filter it with a strainer when filling the bowl. But it's also fast. Otherwise, it is very likely that you have made a bowl and can only fill half of it in time, and the rest will condense directly on the filter screen.
(4) Guiling Ointment is a traditional Chinese medicine with cold nature. It's good to eat in summer, clearing fire and clearing heat. However, because of its laxative effect, people who are uncomfortable in the stomach and prone to diarrhea should not eat more (it doesn't matter if people with constipation eat more). Women can't eat during pregnancy and menstruation (not to say that they can't eat at all, but it's definitely no problem to take a bite, haha). If the internal fire is too strong, people with acne can eat it.
