Crab (páng xiè) is a crustacean belonging to mollusca, DECAPODA, whose body is protected by a hard shell and breathes through gills. Taxonomically, it is the same kind of animal as shrimp, lobster and hermit crab.
Most kinds of crabs live in the sea or offshore areas, and some live in fresh water or land. Common crabs are Portunus trituberculatus, Portunus trituberculatus, Eriocheir sinensis and Eriocheir sinensis (Eriocheir sinensis, Eriocheir sinensis and Eriocheir sinensis).
Location selection
Suitable crab breeding sites have good water quality, sufficient water and convenient drainage. In order to ensure good air permeability, sandy land or sandy soil should be given priority to. The water depth in the pond should be controlled around 1m, and the shallowest part should not be lower than 10cm. A few mounds are left in the built pond, and aquatic plants such as reed, water bamboo and calamus are planted.
On the one hand, these aquatic plants are good sources of nutrients for crabs to eat. On the other hand, it is beneficial to consolidate the river bank and avoid water leakage caused by digging holes.
