In 2009, 68 modes of independent enrollment in colleges and universities were divided into three categories: how to enlarge enrollment rights and reflect fairness.
Time flies. Jiang, a young writer, has been a student in Tsinghua University for almost a semester. However, the news that Tsinghua University admitted Jiang by dropping 60 points through independent enrollment has been lingering in the hearts of the 2009 high school graduates and their parents. Self-enrollment, as a new enrollment form that began to be tried out in key universities in 2003, has attracted more and more attention. The month of entering 1 1 is also the time for colleges and universities that have obtained independent enrollment qualifications to release news one after another. For fresh graduates, what changes will be made in independent enrollment this year? How should candidates face this special type of examination? The reporter visited the admissions department and some colleges and universities last week, and asked relevant people to interpret it for candidates as much as possible.
Self-enrollment is divided into three categories.
Autonomous enrollment is an important measure to expand the autonomy of colleges and universities, deepen the reform of enrollment system in colleges and universities, and also a new exploration to select outstanding innovative talents. According to the initial regulations of the Ministry of Education, the selected candidates need to take the national unified examination, and if the scores reach the admission control scores of the same batch of pilot schools determined by the provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) where the students are located, the provincial admissions office will file with the pilot schools selected by the candidates; Pilot schools conduct comprehensive evaluation and independent selection and admission.
After six years' experiment, the independent enrollment mode of 68 pilot universities has developed from one in that year to three.
The first is the "incomplete" independent enrollment model represented by Peking University and Tsinghua. Such schools allocate 5% or more from the enrollment plan of the current year for independent enrollment. These schools will require students to declare first, and then determine the list of candidates who take the exam through screening, and then determine the list of candidates who are qualified for independent enrollment. Candidates must take the national unified examination after being selected, but they can enjoy a discount of 20 ~30 points or more when they are admitted. At present, most pilot universities choose this model.
The second is the so-called "complete" self-enrollment mode of Fudan University and Shanghai Jiaotong University, which appeared in 2006, mainly for candidates in Shanghai. Different from the first independent enrollment model, this model pays special attention to the interview results of candidates, and the college entrance examination results are only for reference. The requirements for candidates are "all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetics, high comprehensive quality, excellent academic performance or obvious specialties, and development potential and training prospects". Because this model gives universities greater autonomy, it has attracted more attention. However, this model only exists in Shanghai universities at present, and it is not clear whether the Ministry of Education will delegate power to more universities in 2009.
Third, independent enrollment in higher vocational colleges began to appear in 2008. This is also the most thorough independent enrollment model. Candidates who pass the tests organized by these institutions can be admitted directly without having to take the college entrance examination that year; If the exam fails, it will not affect the candidates to continue to take the college entrance examination. These institutions can determine their own admission criteria, such as requiring candidates to provide senior high school entrance examination results and high school growth records. In fact, in 2008, a pilot higher vocational college in Changsha began to recruit students from Henan. Because it is a higher vocational college, the promotion time is not enough, and many candidates have not noticed this new enrollment model.
Not all candidates are suitable.
A person from the Admissions Office of Henan Province said that independent enrollment, as a high-tech form, is not suitable for all candidates. Generally speaking, it is more suitable for candidates with outstanding academic performance or excellent moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetic qualities. Because, even if candidates get the qualification of independent enrollment in pilot universities, they only enjoy some extra care. If their college entrance examination scores are too different from those of colleges and universities in those years, it is still meaningless.
Because the number of candidates who pay attention to self-enrollment is increasing year by year, the screening of candidates' identity in pilot schools is also changing. For example, in the past, only students were recommended by middle schools, but now it is gradually changed into two forms: school recommendation and examinee self-recommendation. However, in any case, candidates must produce proof materials such as the development of morality, intelligence, physique and beauty, awards and specialties in order to stand out from many applications. Last year, there were 10 thousand candidates who applied for Peking University's independent enrollment. Finally, only 1 1,000 people were informed to take the exam.
Zheng Guanzhou, an enrollment expert in Henan Province, suggested that candidates should look at the independent enrollment examination calmly. At present, only some universities in Henan Province, such as Peking University, Tsinghua and Zhejiang University, have set up independent enrollment test centers. Therefore, if candidates want to take an examination of other institutions, they will have to run around, which will also affect the candidates' preparation for the college entrance examination. Therefore, it is ideal for candidates to choose purposefully according to their own situation.
How to recruit students independently is fairer?
There is a growing demand for expanding the scope of independent enrollment in colleges and universities. However, in today's social situation, how to ensure the fairness and justice of independent enrollment is probably one of the prerequisites for whether this enrollment model can go further.
Last year, the reporter learned from the scene of Peking University and Tsinghua's independent entrance examination that in order to select better students, the examination questions of these two schools were more difficult than the college entrance examination. Chi Xinggang, a teacher in charge of Henan enrollment in Peking University, said that last year's Chinese exam focused on reading ancient and modern Chinese, and the difficulty of English, mathematics, physics and chemistry was not much different from that of the college entrance examination. The most difficult issues are politics and history. Both courses require students to understand the current political hot spots. "It is impossible for rote students to answer such questions well. It is useless for students to cram for the Buddha's feet at the last minute. It focuses on the comprehensive quality of students. " Chi Xinggang said that the specific policy of independent enrollment in Peking University in 2009 was promulgated at 10/010.
New enrollment policies of some famous schools.
▲ Tsinghua: Self-enrollment and walk-in written examination are combined into one.
This year, Tsinghua will reform the written examination of self-enrollment and walk-in students. In 2009, the written examination papers of self-enrollment and exemption students were merged, including four subjects, Chinese+English, physics, mathematics and science. Liberal arts is a combination of Chinese+English, history, mathematics and liberal arts. These four subjects will be divided into two parts, the first three of which are the first part. The content and topic form of this part of the exam are connected with the college entrance examination, and the number and difficulty of the test papers will increase. The comprehensive volume is the second part. The content will not stick to the high school syllabus, but the form will be more flexible, which is different from the college entrance examination and competition. All candidates should take all four exams. Candidates with excellent results in the first three subjects can pass as long as the fourth subject reaches the basic line; Similarly, if the fourth subject scores well, the first three subjects only need to reach a very low basic line. Even if the results in the fourth subject are particularly good, you can pass directly without considering the results in the first three subjects. This provides opportunities for students with balanced development of various disciplines or outstanding development of single subjects. Simply put, students get two chances to pass the written test. Candidates who pass the written test will be able to attend the winter camp interview in Tsinghua. The vast majority of candidates who take part in the interview can be identified as walking students or self-enrollment.
▲ NPC: The admission criteria are wider.
In 2009, outstanding students, science students, liberal arts students and art students will be recruited from the fresh graduates of provincial model high schools. Candidates who pass the preliminary examination will go to the National People's Congress to participate in the independent selection test of the winter camp. The content of the examination includes the written examination of culture (including Chinese, mathematics and English) and the interview of comprehensive ability. Candidates who apply for science majors must take an extra written test in physics or chemistry. Candidates who apply for the category of "excellent students in learning" will be admitted if the total score of the college entrance examination (including policy bonus points) reaches or exceeds 30 points below the normal admission line of local Datong subjects and is not lower than the key line of their province. Candidates who apply for science, liberal arts and fine arts specialties will be admitted by the National People's Congress if the total score of the college entrance examination (including policy score) reaches the key line of the province (autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government) where the students are located. The deadline for self-enrollment online registration is11.06+1.06.
▲ China University of Science and Technology: Comprehensive evaluation of candidates
The Chinese University of Science and Technology will set up a self-enrollment written test center in the national 13 city, and make a comprehensive evaluation according to the candidates' interview results, competition results and innovation ability. , and choose the best qualified students and admission majors; According to the written test scores of candidates, qualified students for independent enrollment are determined. The qualifications for independent enrollment are divided into three grades: A, B and C. The scores of the college entrance examination respectively reach 40 points, 20 points and 1 0 points below the number of local enrollment plans, and they will be admitted immediately in the local key control line; If the results of the college entrance examination reach the number of school-based enrollment plans 1: 1, the A-level qualified students will meet the first professional volunteer, and the B-level and C-level qualified students will get 10 to choose the professional volunteer (excluding the science experimental class and the national talent training base class).
Which school to apply for depends on your level.
