Hepatocellular carcinoma has no specific symptoms. Symptoms may come from hepatocellular carcinoma or hepatitis or cirrhosis background, and it is often difficult to distinguish it from benign liver diseases. Liver cancer has an insidious onset and can be categorized into subclinical liver cancer and clinical liver cancer. Early stage of liver cancer can be asymptomatic, and most of the liver cancers detected during screening or health checkup are small liver cancers. When patients develop obvious clinical symptoms, their condition is often in the middle or late stage. The first symptom is pain in the liver area, followed by epigastric mass, lack of appetite, fatigue, lethargy, abdominal distension, unexplained fever, diarrhea, abdominal pain and right shoulder pain.
