1. May 5th? Mei Yaochen in the Song Dynasty
Qu's family was dead, and the Chu people could not bear it.
I don't want to be slandered, but I want to be a dragon.
I didn't forget my hate before my death, but I didn't chase after it.
Yuanxiang Bitan Lake should take a look at its own peaks.
Translation:
Qu Yuan has committed suicide by drowning in the river, and the Chu people are sad that he was not accommodated. Where can we stop slanderers? We just try to drive the dragon away. Instead of eliminating Qu Yuan's regret before his death, he pursued his legacy after his death. (Only left) The green water in Yuanxiang reflects the shadow of the mountain peak.
Appreciation:
Although Mei Yaochen was extremely unsatisfied in his reign, he enjoyed a great reputation in the poetry circle. With infinite grief, anguish, longing and pain, he wrote May 5th to express his "unexpected" feelings through Qu Yuan.
2.
Ming Tang Xianzu wrote a cup of calamus and bamboo leaves alone, and
Pengcheng Fangcao stepped back for the first time.
If you know better than to die in Oujiang,
Why bother to come here?
Translation:
I just came back from an outing in Liancheng, and I only bought calamus, bamboo leaves and realgar wine at home, so I think I can spend the Dragon Boat Festival. I know that Qu Yuan is not indulging in our Oujiang River, so why bother to mourn Qu Yuan with such a luxurious dragon boat race?
Creation background:
This poem by Tang Xianzu is unique in that it is forbidden to race. This paper mainly describes the custom of the Dragon Boat Festival. Facing the dragon boat race, I think of Qu Yuan. He expressed his thoughts on the Dragon Boat Festival and his sympathy for the hard-working people. Tang Xianzu sang many poems about Qu Yuan, and his admiration was beyond words.
3. The Dragon Boat Festival
of Du Fu in Tang Dynasty is divided into the Dragon Boat Festival, and
it is rumored to be Qu Yuan throughout the ages.
It's funny that the Chu River is so empty,
It can't be washed away.
Translation:
Where did the Dragon Boat Festival come from? The legend of predecessors is for Qu Yuan, the doctor of Chu State. Ironically, the Chu River is so vast that it can't wash away the grievances of loyal and upright people.
Creative background:
Qu Yuan, the first great poet in China, committed suicide by throwing himself into the river, and later generations injured him unjustly. On the day of the Dragon Boat Festival, he threw zongzi into the river as a sacrifice and rowed a boat to save him, which led to the custom of solar eclipse and dragon boat race on the Dragon Boat Festival. The author puts forward a thought-provoking question: despite all kinds of praises and sacrifices made by later generations, tragedies like Qu Yuan's sinking into the river have happened after all, and such grievances cannot be simply washed away.
