Observation and Discussion

Children have such an animal. Whenever Christmas comes, it will pull a sleigh filled with gifts for Santa Claus and bring gifts to the children. Come for fun and surprise. Children, do you know what kind of animal this is? Elk is regarded as a sacred object in people's hearts and is a symbol of longevity and happiness. Children, do you know that in Western mythology, the elk is the god of the forest and the protector of elves and animals? In particular, the male elk has huge horns on its head, which look like a branch full of power, symbolizing the spirituality of nature. When you see this, the children may think that elk is a Western animal. In fact, it is not true. Elk is a species in East Asia, and it is native to the lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China.

In fact, elk is a type of deer. Its appearance is very strange: its antlers are like a deer, its face is like a horse, its hooves are like an ox, and its tail is like a donkey, so it is also called the "Four Unlikely". In the Chinese mythological story "Feng Shen Bang", the "Four Dislikes" are regarded as Jiang Ziya's mount, which adds to its mystery. The four images have the meaning of mystery and fortune. The deer is also called the wealth deer, which has a very good meaning in both the East and the West. The deer represents wealth, luck, power, and symbolizes pursuit and yearning. Therefore, many people like to place deer in their living rooms, which symbolizes their yearning and pursuit of a better life, and is also a symbol of status.

In fact, the elk not only has a beautiful symbolic meaning, but also runs fast, swims fast, and is good at climbing on ice and snow, making it a veritable athlete. Unfortunately, with the destruction of the natural environment, the number of elk is still an endangered species, and there is a long way to go to protect elk. Today let’s draw a beautiful elk together.

Production steps

Step 1: We first paint the prepared paper plate with water to give it a cold tone, so that it will contrast with the warm tone of the elk.

Step 2: Children select colored paper that can represent the color of an elk through observation of pictures, and then draw and cut out the semicircular head, oval mouth, leaf-shaped ears and round ones. Eye.

Step 3: We first collage the cute little elk, and then use watercolor pens or markers to create rich colors.

Step 4: Next, paste the painted elk on the prepared paper plate, and then use the prepared dead branches as antlers to paste. Pay attention to the dead branches you choose to have shapes, not straight ones.

Step 5: Children choose sequins and fur balls of their favorite colors to decorate the antlers.

Step 6: Finally, we use acrylic pens to decorate the background of the paper plate to create a Christmas atmosphere, and the work is completed.
