Capsella bursa-pastoris (scientific name Capsella bursa-pastoris), also known as the life-guarding grass, ground vegetable, ground rice vegetable, diamondback vegetable, etc., Cruciferae, Capsella bursa-pastoris genus, one or two-year-old herbaceous plants. It originated in Europe and is now very common all over the world. Its Latin species name comes from the Latin word meaning "small box" and "shepherd's purse", which describes its capsule shaped like a shepherd's purse. The English name is "shepherd's purse".
As long as there is enough sunlight, the soil is not too dry, caper can grow, distributed in the temperate regions of the world, like warm but hardy.
The shepherd's purse is a fairly small plant, able to grow from 6 to 20 centimeters tall. The main stem is branched into thin stems, the leaves are lanceolate with toothed edges, and the flowers are small, white, racemes with 4 petals.
The capsule is inverted triangular, flattened, and contains a large number of seeds. The seeds secrete a sticky secretion when wet, which sticks to insects, and therefore destroys mosquito tsetse in water.
The seeds, leaves, and roots of shepherd's purse are edible. Shepherd's purse is also used medicinally to stop bleeding.
