In the summer of 1959, Liu Junxiu, a native of Yongxin who served in the Provincial Party Committee Secretariat, personally arranged to ask Li Guifa, the chef of the Lotus Guesthouse, to take ducks to Nanchang and Lushan to cook Lotus local dishes for the old comrades in Jinggangshan. The leader of the alliance brought blood wine to the stage to worship the flag. First, I wish Prime Minister Wen’s army to be invincible, and second, I wish my rebel army to be victorious. After congratulations, prepare to drink the blood wine in one gulp. Suddenly, when they heard the news that the prime minister had arrived, everyone cheered, which resounded throughout the sky. It turned out that Wen Tianxiang led troops out of Jiangxi from Linghai and received frequent good news along the way. This time he came here to strengthen the anti-Yuan army. Prime Minister Wen drank blood wine with the warriors, which greatly boosted their morale. The leader of the alliance ordered the wine to be served to welcome the wind.
It is said that there is a man named Liu Delin in the Huotou Army. He is a hotel chef and is good at cooking. It was no small matter to serve Prime Minister Wen with a drink today, and he felt a little nervous. I cooked a few dishes in a panic. When it was his turn to fry the duck, he put the chopped duck into the pot. In panic, he poured the unfinished blood wine as hot sauce. By the time he realized it, it was too late and there was no way to remedy it. He was afraid that the blood wine would not taste good, so he stir-fried it carefully. Suddenly he smelled a spicy smell. When he looked carefully, he saw that the dish was mushy and purple-red. When he tasted it, it tasted more delicious than usual. Liu Delin was overjoyed and said in his heart: "This is the first time that I have fried such a delicious dish today." After taking the dish out, Prime Minister Wen tasted it and praised it profusely, asking, "What dish is this?" Liu Delin thought about it and replied : "Let's call it blood duck." Prime Minister Wen stood up and said solemnly, "Today heroes from all walks of life gather together to discuss the great cause of benefiting the country. We drink blood wine, eat blood duck, and swear to fight the enemy to the end in bloody battle!" The mountains shook and the ground shook. That's when the army set out to recapture Yongxin and other counties. It was a moment of great momentum and fame.
Since then, the "Lotus Blood Duck" has become famous all over the world and has been passed down from generation to generation. Later, thanks to the strong recommendation of Zhu Yifan, the teacher of the last emperor Puyi, "Lotus Blood Duck" became the royal recipe of the late Qing court. As a result, "Lotus Blood Duck" became famous all over the world! During the Lushan Conference, it was praised by Mao Zedong as a special dish.
One summer in the 1950s, a mysterious phone call came to Lianhua County, naming a chef named Li Guifa to rush to Nanchang and bring a few ducks to fry lotus for the old comrades in Jinggangshan.
