The mapfish's black oval body is covered with irregular red and orange-yellow spots, like a map, hence its name; and because it has a black spot surrounded by gold at the end of its tail, shining like a star, it's also known as the "eye-spotted starry-eyed fish"; and others call it the "flower pigfish" because of its voracious appetite and usual "laziness". "pigfish", because they eat greed and usually "lazy" habits.
