Douliou is a national second-class protected plant.
Douglou is the collective name for plants of the genus Chonglou in the family of Yelinophyceae, which is a perennial herb with rhizomes that walk horizontally, are yellow-brown, plump, ringed, and have fibrous roots. The stem is erect, solitary, cylindrical, glossy, slightly purplish red, with a membranous leaf sheath surrounding the base. Leaves whorled, usually umbrella-shaped aggregated at the top of the stem, shortly stalked, leaf blade oblong or oblong-lanceolate, apex acuminate, base day amount, part cherry-shaped, entire, green on both sides.

The origin of Chonglou and other introductions
Chonglou is distributed in Fujian, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan, etc. It is born in shady and moist places under the forests in mountainous areas or grassy places on roadsides. Chonglou is a shade plant, adapted to oblique light or diffused light, moisture moderate environment, both afraid of dry early and afraid of accumulation.
