Ginseng producing area
Ginseng is mainly produced in eastern Liaoning, eastern Jilin and eastern Heilongjiang. It is also introduced in Hebei, Shanxi and Shandong, and cultivated in the Soviet Union, North Korea and Japan.
Where is ginseng a specialty?
Ginseng is a specialty of Changbai Mountain in Northeast China. It is cultivated artificially in Tonghua. The ginseng produced in North Korea is called Korean ginseng. The soil, temperature, humidity and climate in this area are suitable for the growth of ginseng. Five-year-old ginseng is a good product. The dry ginseng is as thick as the middle finger and has five growth holes.
Ginseng growth environment
Ginseng has strong cold tolerance, can withstand the low temperature of -40℃, likes to grow in dense forests, likes scattered light and weak light, grows well at the temperature of15 ~ 20 C, grows in deciduous broad-leaved forest and coniferous broad-leaved mixed forest, likes cold and wet climate, and avoids strong light and high temperature. The soil requires loose, fertile, well-drained and humus forest soil.
