Guillow fish farming needs to start from the pond conditions, water depth, food, water quality and so on.
1, pond conditions
The pond area is generally 2-4 acres, the water depth is about 2 meters, mainly rectangular, water quality is fresh, the water bottom mud is little or no, drainage and irrigation oxygenation equipment is complete.
2, water depth
Breeding guppies also need to pay special attention to the depth of the water, because guppies like to inhabit the waters of the ground. Therefore, the water in the breeding pool can not be particularly shallow, generally speaking, at least 1.5 meters deep can be. In winter, the depth of water can also be increased appropriately, which is more conducive to guppies over winter.
3, food
Breeding guppies need to prepare enough food for them so that their developmental state will be good. Guppies are a kind of carnivorous fish, some small fish is their favorite food. Often used as feed for guppies are fish such as white crucian carp, which can be cultivated while breeding guppies to provide them with sufficient feed.
4, water quality
Water quality is also very important for breeding guppies, too dirty water will seriously affect the growth of guppies, and may cause them to fall ill. In order to ensure the quality of water, you need to change the water regularly. Normally, you need to change the water once a week and keep the water transparency above 40 centimeters.
Life habits of guppies
Guppies belong to completely freshwater fish, like to live in rivers, lakes, reservoirs and other clean water bodies of lush aquatic plants, usually lurking in the daytime underwater, and night activities around the foraging. Do not like to make long-distance wandering and migration, do not like to live in groups. Living in the appropriate water temperature 15 ~ 32 ℃. However, some scholars have shown that within the range of 10 to 25 ℃, with the increase in temperature, the specific growth rate of guppy fish with the increase in temperature, while between 25 to 35 ℃ there is no significant change.
When reaching the water temperature of 35℃, the growth of guppy fish was not significantly slowed down, which is inconsistent with the results of the general study on the relationship between fish and water temperature, i.e., within a certain temperature range, the feeding rate and growth rate of fish increase with the increase of water temperature, and when the water temperature exceeds the optimal water temperature, the feeding rate and growth rate of fish will instead decrease, which suggests that the optimal growing temperature of the guppy fish may be more extensive.
The guppy is a carnivorous fish, ferocious life-long feeding on fish and other aquatic animals, the young juvenile stage that is to eat other fish fry, 200 millimeters when the main predator Rhodeus sinensis, like crabs and other small fish and shrimp, but also tadpoles and frogs; 250 millimeters or more when the main feeding on carp, crucian carp and other fish. In winter, it stops feeding, but in spring, summer and fall, it feeds at night.
