Vitasoy was developed by the founder Luo Guixiang. Luo Guixiang hopes to provide a cheap and protein-rich beverage for ordinary families in Hong Kong as a substitute for more expensive milk. Soybean, known as "China Cattle", is abundant in protein and cheap. Luo thought that soy milk made from soybeans could replace milk, so he developed vitasoy milk.

Vitasoy went on sale on April 3rd, 1940. The first Vitasoy factory is located in great george street, Causeway Bay. Only six bottles of soybean milk were sold on the first day, and the price was 60 Hong Kong dollars. In the early days, Vitasoy was delivered to your door by a shop assistant on a bicycle. In addition, the early Vitasoy milk was not disinfected and needed to be drunk on the same day, otherwise it would go bad, so it was not welcomed by consumers.

During the Japanese occupation, the Vitasoy factory stopped working, resumed production after it was heavy and light, and moved to Aberdeen on 1950. In addition to daily distribution, Vitasoy is also sold through retailer distribution. Since 1953, Vitasome milk has been sterilized at high temperature and does not need to be refrigerated, and its sales volume has increased greatly, reaching120,000 bottles per year in the mid-1950s. When Vitasoy was first introduced, soybean milk had not been processed, so 1962 added Maijing Vitasoy, and a new factory was built in Kwun Tong in the same year. 1987 tuen mun factory was completed and became the headquarters of the group. 1On March 30, 1994, Vitasoy Group was officially listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and the first day's share price was about 1.5 Hong Kong dollars. Early Vitasoy was sold in a wide-mouthed bottle, and later it was changed into a glass bottle for soda. 1975 Tetra Pak packaging equipment was introduced from Sweden for the first time, 250 ml paper packaging was added, and the product was sterilized at ultra-high temperature, so that the product could be preserved for many months. [1976] Vitasoy launched a series of juice drinks of Vitasoy brand, followed by lemon tea and chrysanthemum tea at 1979. 1984 introduced 375 ml large package, and in 2000 introduced 125 ml small package for the convenience of children. Because Vitasoy has always advertised its healthy image when it was launched, and used the slogan of "simple soda" as a trick, many schools with strict school rules made an exception and allowed Vitasoy to be sold in school canteens. Vitasoy sold in schools is usually packed in glass bottles. In the cold winter, drinking hot vitasoy milk sold in the canteen is a childhood memory of many people.
