Yellow croaker is a kind of marine fish.

Pseudosciaena crocea is also called Daxian, Jinlong, Huanggua Fish, Red Melon, Huang Jinlong, Osmanthus crocea, King Fish and rhubarb. Small yellow croaker is also called Plum, Plum Fish, Wang Xiaoyu, Xiaoxian, Koharu Fish, Small Yellow Croaker, Thick Scaled Fish and Flower Fish. They all belong to teleost, Perciformes, Sciaenidae and Pseudosciaena crocea.

Living habits—

Distribution map overwinters in the deep sea in winter and migrates to the coast in spring. After spawning in March-June, they scattered in the offshore for food, mainly feeding on mysis, shrimps and small fish, and returned to the deep sea in late autumn. Small yellow croaker has the feeding habits of zooplankton and swimming animals, and its food selectivity is small. It mainly feeds on zooplankton, fish and shrimp.

Among them, zooplankton are mainly copepods, fish are mainly gobies, and shrimps are prawns, brown shrimps, white shrimps with ridged tails and drum shrimps. In the southern Yellow Sea and the northern East China Sea, Pseudosciaena crocea mainly feeds on swimming animals, but the feeding intensity is different in different life stages (wintering period, spawning period and feeding period), and the feeding intensity is the weakest in wintering period (1~ March).
