Lin Sheng's poem "Warm wind makes tourists drunk, Hangzhou is Bianzhou" in the Southern Song Dynasty, and Bianzhou refers to Kaifeng City. Kaifeng, known as Bianzhou, Bianliang and Bianjing in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city in Henan Province, and one of the central cities and cultural tourism cities in the core area of China Central Plains urban agglomeration approved by the State Council. The total area is 6266 square kilometers.

Henan Opera, the largest local opera in China, originated here, with 8 national 5A and 4A tourist attractions and 9 national key cultural relics protection units/kloc-0. Qingming Culture Festival in Kaifeng, China and Chrysanthemum Culture Festival in Kaifeng, China attracted many tourists from home and abroad. In June, 2020, 10 was awarded as a national model city (county) with double support.

In 2020, the GDP of Kaifeng area was 23.7183 billion yuan, up by 2.0% over the previous year, and the growth rate was 0.7 percentage point higher than that of the whole province (1.3%), ranking the third in the whole province.
