According to the Preface to Xinhua Dictionary, Xinhua Dictionary has about 1 1200 words. Xinhua Dictionary is the first modern Chinese dictionary in China. Its earliest name was Wu Dictionary, but it has not been compiled. Since 1953, it has been re-edited, and its general example is completely Wu Dictionary.
