Viperfish are representative deep-sea fish found in tropical to temperate waters around the world. Their fangs resemble those of a viper, long and protruding. Viperfish, another representative of a very predatory fish. Similar to the pipefish, the viperfish has a light-emitting organ somewhere on its body and is in shallow water. When night comes, they swim to shallower areas, about less than 700 feet deep, in search of their prey, which seems to be more abundant here. There are many luminaries on the body, which are utilized to lure the prey and hunt. The mouth opens wide, and the stomach is like a rubber very elastic, so that it can swallow prey as large as itself. They chase plankton and go near the surface at night, but move deeper into the sea during the day.
