Cloverleaf has purple flowers while clover grass has white flowers. Alfalfa cabbage is edible, while alfalfa grass is not. Alfalfa is a legume, while clover grass is a herb. Alfalfa cabbage usually grows taller, up to about a meter, while alfalfa grass usually grows to about 10 centimeters.

Alfalfa grass is planted all over the country and grows in areas such as fields, roadsides, open fields, grasslands, riverbanks and ravines. But alfalfa grass is mainly found in temperate to tropical regions and is semi-autotrophic in wet meadows, riverbanks and roadsides.
