This is their most suitable living temperature. Black shell shrimp can tolerate short-term low temperature, but when it is below 5℃, it will stop eating, which generally will not affect its survival, but it is not conducive to its reproduction. The newly hatched larvae of black shell shrimp are not easy to survive below 10℃, so the low temperature environment has great influence on the reproduction and growth of black shell shrimp.

Notes on polyculture of freshwater shrimp

Because the black shell shrimp is small, it is easy to be attacked when mixed with some ornamental fish, so it is suitable to be mixed with some docile small ornamental fish, but it must be avoided to be mixed with ornamental fish that move at night.

During the growth of black shell shrimp, it will molt once every once in a while, usually at night. When molting, shrimp's body will smell like fish, while nocturnal fish usually have a keen sense of smell and are good at drilling holes, which is very dangerous for molting black shell shrimp.

For this reason, we usually arrange some hidden objects in the aquarium at night to hide them, and don't turn on the light at will, because the light at night may induce the shell of the shell of the shell shrimp to fall off in advance, which will also affect their feeding, because generally speaking, the shell shrimp is most active before midnight.
