How to raise glass cat fish?
Glass catfish, named glass catfish in English and kryptopterus bicirrhis in Latin (named by Valencia in 1839), belongs to the animal kingdom, chordates and fishes.

Glass catfish looks like a willow leaf, with a slightly sharp nose and two tentacles, which can stretch forward or rotate freely to detect water flow and obstacles. The chest and abdomen are short and slightly raised. The glass catfish is as transparent as glass, and there are two slender tentacles like cat whiskers in the nose and mouth, hence the name "glass catfish". When the glass catfish is illuminated by strong light, only a black skull and a spine can be seen, and the rest are transparent. This kind of glass catfish has high ornamental value and can add a smart beauty to the fish tank.

Because the glass catfish is transparent, when it swims fast in the water, it can't be found without careful observation. At most, it can see a vague fish shadow shaking rapidly. For this reason, the glass cat fish is also called "ghost fish". In addition, there is a kind of glass cat fish, called "coffee glass cat". Although it is also transparent, its surface color is slightly light brown.

Glass catfish are distributed in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and other countries in Southeast Asia. Adult glass catfish can reach about 9- 18cm in length, which is suitable for living in water temperature of 20-25℃. The PH value of water is about 6.3-7.0, and the hardness of water is about gH3-6dGH.

Glass catfish is gentle, doesn't like swimming around, is a little timid, and hides in a dark corner when it is afraid. In order to raise glass catfish better, you can plant aquatic plants in the tank and put some heavy wood and fake stones to hide it. Among many lampreys, the glass catfish is quite sensitive to the change of water temperature. When the water temperature drops to 18℃, their transparency will become pale and weak. If the water temperature continues to drop, the body of the glass catfish will gradually curl up and become stiff until it dies. Like pencil fish, glass cat fish likes active bait, but has no very special requirements for food. Generally speaking, it can be fed with some flaky feed, bumper shrimp, red worms, nematodes and silkworms as food.
