(ix) avoid picking up fish on the slope, the water avoid picking up chicken. Legend has it that the fish to the mountains, chicken water is an ominous sign. If you pick up, either sick, or loss of wealth.

(17) go out to seek wealth, avoid traveling on the fifth, fourteenth and twenty-third of the month. It is said that these days are monthly taboo days, unlucky.
(xviii) avoid pointing fingers at fruits and melons, or the fruits and melons can not ripen. It is also taboo for small children to point their fingers at the moon, the Bodhisattva and the elderly. Pointing at the old man is a sign of disrespect to the old man; pointing at the moon, the moon will cut off the ears; pointing at the bodhisattva, the bodhisattva will make a mistake.
Ten, absolutely forbidden twelve kinds of chopsticks use
Chinese people use chopsticks to eat from ancient times, and in ancient times called it "chopsticks". The use of chopsticks in daily life is very delicate. The correct way to use chopsticks is to hold them in your right hand, with your thumb and forefinger pinching the top of the chopsticks, and the other three fingers naturally bent to hold the chopsticks, and the ends of the chopsticks must be aligned. During use, the chopsticks should be neatly stacked on the right side of the bowl before eating, and vertically stacked in the center of the bowl after eating. However, the following twelve ways of using chopsticks are absolutely forbidden.
(1) Three longs and two shorts
This means placing chopsticks on the table with different lengths before or during the meal. This is a very unlucky practice, and we usually call it "three longs and two shorts". It means "death". Because the Chinese used to believe that after death is to be put into the coffin, in the people put in the coffin. (2) Immortals point the way
This practice is also extremely unacceptable. The way to hold the chopsticks is to pinch them with the thumb and middle, ring and little fingers, while the index finger extends. This is called "cursing" in other people's eyes. This is because if you stick out your index finger while eating, you are always cursing others. Therefore, pointing at others while eating with chopsticks is tantamount to accusing others, which is the same as cursing and should not be allowed. There is also another case that means the same thing, and that is talking to someone while eating and pointing at them with chopsticks.
(3) Sipping the Chopsticks
This practice is also unacceptable, as it involves putting the end of the chopsticks in your mouth, sipping them back and forth, and sizzling them from time to time. This behavior is considered a cheap practice. Sucking chopsticks in the mouth while eating is in itself a rude behavior, and with the sound, it is even more disgusting. Therefore, this practice is generally considered to be a lack of discipline and should not be allowed.
(4) Knocking on the table
This behavior is regarded as begging for food, which is done by knocking on the plates and bowls with the chopsticks during the meal. Because in the past, only people who asked for food used chopsticks to hit the food bowl, the sound of which was accompanied by the mouth's pleading, so that pedestrians would pay attention and give alms. This practice was regarded as an extremely lowly thing to do and was frowned upon by others.
(5) Cruising the City with Chopsticks
This is the practice of holding chopsticks in one's hand as if no one else is there, and cruising back and forth across the table with the chopsticks, not knowing where to place them. This behavior is a typical lack of cultivation, and no one in sight, extremely offensive.
(6) Fascinated by grave digging
This refers to the practice of holding chopsticks in one's hand and pulling them out of the dish in order to find prey, just like grave digging. This practice is similar to the practice of "touring the city with fascination," which is an uneducated and disgusting practice.
(7) Tearing up and leaving a pearl behind
This is actually a practice whereby one's chopsticks are not used properly, so that the soup spills over into the other dishes or onto the table. This practice is considered a serious breach of etiquette and is equally undesirable.
(H) Upside Down
This means using chopsticks upside down during a meal. This practice is very much looked down upon, under the so-called hunger for food, so much so that they do not care about face, will make the chopsticks upside down, this is absolutely not allowed.

It is also not acceptable to use one chopstick to insert a dish on the plate during a meal. This is considered a form of humiliation for those dining at the same table. (10) Offering incense in public
Often, when helping someone serve a meal out of the goodness of your heart, you stick a set of chopsticks in the rice and hand it to the other person in order to make it easier and less time-consuming. This is seen as disrespectful, as it is traditional in Miao villages to do this only when offering incense to someone. Inserting a set of chopsticks into the rice is tantamount to offering incense to a dead person. Therefore, it is never acceptable to insert chopsticks into a bowl.
(xi) Crossing Chopsticks
This is often not noticed by people, who cross their chopsticks randomly on the table during a meal. This is wrong and is considered by the Hmong people to be a cross at the table and a total dismissal of everyone else at the table. It is of the same nature as a student who writes wrong homework and gets a fork in the book by the teacher, and is not acceptable to others. This is because the Miao people believe that their ancestors all sleep underground and should not be disturbed. Dropping chopsticks on the ground is tantamount to disturbing the ancestors underground, which is a great unfiliality, so this kind of behavior is also not allowed. However, there is a way to break the law. Once the chopsticks have fallen to the ground, one should use the chopsticks to draw a cross on the ground according to the direction in which one is sitting. The direction is east-west then north-south.
