As a Hui nationality from a gathering place of non-ethnic minorities, my growing road was full of pork, and I was basically the only Hui nationality in the big class since I was a child. There was a Hui boy in primary school, but he ate everything. I was flattered. However, the policies of the school at all stages are very good. When primary and junior high schools go out for social practice or military training, Hui students will specially prepare food. Moreover, teachers and students respect this matter very much, and students who are usually naughty and annoying have never made jokes about ethnic affairs. Such a friendly growing environment makes me feel that my nation has brought trouble to everyone, so I can stop calling myself a Hui, and I must wait until the last moment (such as eating pig's trotters and asking me to taste them) to tell each other "I don't eat pork, I am a Hui".
However, before college, there were few opportunities to eat and share food with friends. After going to college, the frequency of eating with friends and classmates increased, and three situations and three corresponding solutions were gradually summarized.
The first is to eat together when there are many people, such as class dinners. At this time, don't say anything early, just pick what you can eat. Anyway, the purpose of eating is not to eat. But at this time, one or two enthusiastic friends often know that I am Hui and will help me add two dishes that I can eat. I am very grateful to these friends. Their voices make me feel very comfortable and have a full meal, hahaha.
The next common situation is to have dinner with friends. My practice is to tell people to order whatever they want, and then I will order whatever they want. But I want to say that everyone around me is a fairy. They never order a table that I can't finish, but they always think of me and thank my excellent classmates every day. If you are eating hot pot, you should try to eat a mandarin duck pot, so that you can divide the ingredients. Really can't. I said, can you put the inedible ingredients in the back and eat them quickly, or fish out some first and then eat the inedible ingredients?
Finally, a friend invited me to go shopping. Many times, I will check the dishes in this store. If there is really nothing to eat, I will refuse directly and tell my friends to find someone else. It will be disappointing for me to go. Next time I have something to eat, let's go together.
Back to the question, of course Han's friends can eat pork. Hui Han is full of people.
I often want others to think that I am just a person who doesn't like pork, which may be much more convenient. Just like some people who don't like coriander, when we eat together, we feel that some people who don't like coriander will say, let's order less coriander. Normal people don't feel noble because they don't eat coriander. Similarly, normal people will not abuse their privileges to prevent me from eating coriander because they feel that people who don't eat coriander are really hateful because they have eaten a few mouthfuls of coriander this meal.
However, pork and coriander are definitely not comparable, with different needs and different properties. I just want to say that Han friends don't have to be too serious, don't have to think about why Muslims don't eat pork, don't have to test whether Muslims want to eat pork, and be friends who don't like pork when they meet Muslims. I believe this mentality can make you get along well with friends of the Hui nationality.
