Tomato, also known as tomato, is a common edible vegetable, but it is prone to a large number of leaf curling during the growth of tomato, which is a physiological leaf curling phenomenon, especially in high temperature season, so leaf curling usually occurs because of temperature.
Causes of tomato leaf curl disease
1, high temperature and drought
Tomatoes like to grow in a warm climate. This is a plant that can't withstand high temperature and drought. Once experiencing high temperature and drought for several days in a row, the stomata on tomato leaves will be closed to reduce water transpiration, resulting in the leaves gathering or curling.
2. The temperature changes dramatically.
In hot weather, when tomatoes are irrigated at noon or suddenly clear up after rain, the plants can not adapt to the sudden change of temperature, which will cause physiological abnormalities and leaf curl.
3. The root system becomes fragile
The root system of tomato is poorly developed at seedling stage, and it is easy to be seriously injured when planting. In both cases, the water absorption capacity of roots will be weakened, and once dry weather occurs, plants will be seriously short of water, leading to rational leaf rolling.
Treatment of tomato leaf curl disease
1. Cultivating strong seedlings: When tomato seedlings are transplanted, biological bacterial fertilizer can be used to dip the roots, so as to protect the roots, prevent root damage and promote root growth. Good root development will alleviate the leaf curl phenomenon.
2. Strengthen water and fertilizer management: In the middle and late period of tomato growth, the ability of root system to absorb water becomes weak, so it is necessary to fertilize and water regularly to avoid long-term drought in the field.
3. Spraying foliar fertilizer: In the middle and late period of tomato growth, especially in the hot season, potassium dihydrogen phosphate can be sprayed before 10 in the morning to prevent the leaves from curling due to excessive water loss.
