Gongcai is gongcai, also known as dried moss, or rattling lettuce. It is a type of lettuce, but not a lettuce, with a brighter color than lettuce and a crisp texture that tastes like jellyfish.
This vegetable can be eaten in both stems and leaves, with its tender leaves being eaten more often in the summer months, while in the fall and winter it's mostly the sturdy stems that are eaten. Remove the outer skin, the inside is green as emerald stem. And cut into slices stir-fry, or make soup are quite delicious.
Source of name:
In the old feudal dynasties, the best food was usually supplied to the court for the emperors and royal relatives to enjoy, and this food was also called "tribute".
But a kind of food because the emperors loved, and specifically to get the name of the few and far between, which "tribute to the vegetable" is one of them, because it has repeatedly become a tribute to the court, so there is a "tribute to the vegetable" one.
