The role of cogongrass rhizome and gypsum
Imperata rhizome: cooling blood to stop bleeding, clearing heat and diuresis. Used for hematemesis, epistaxis, hematuria, fever, polydipsia, jaundice, edema, stranguria and astringent pain; Acute nephritis edema.

Gypsum: clearing away heat and purging fire, removing annoyance and quenching thirst. Used for exogenous fever, high fever, polydipsia, lung heat, asthma and cough, excessive stomach fire, headache and toothache.
