1, physical examination
Physical examination means that doctors can judge whether it is a coffee spot by observing and palpating the size, shape, color, quantity, boundary and surface of the spot. In addition, it is necessary to judge whether the boundary of the patch is clear.
2. Dermatoscope
Under dermoscopy, patches in different parts show different performances. Generally, the facial features are uniform brown patches, and the neck features grid patterns. Coffee spots in different parts have different manifestations under dermatoscope. Coffee spots on the face show uniform brown spots and hypopigmentation around hair follicles, while coffee spots on the neck can show grid shape.
3. Pathological examination
In pathological examination, the total amount of melanin in patients' epidermis will increase compared with the number of melanocytes in the basal layer. In addition, there will be hypopigmentation phenomenon around the patch hair follicle on the face.
Besides the necessary examination, coffee spots should be differentiated from many similar diseases to avoid misdiagnosis. For example: freckles, nevus of OTA, etc. Among them, the skin lesions of freckles are light brown to brown spots, and the size is about from the tip of a needle to a grain of rice. They are scattered and do not blend with each other. They are easy to happen on the face, especially on the nose and cheeks. It often occurs in childhood, which is more common in women, aggravated in spring and summer, and alleviated in autumn and winter. The nevus of OTA often occurs at birth, and it usually occurs on one side of the face, showing blue-gray, taupe spots or patches, with unclear boundaries and reticular or diffuse shape. The sclera of the ipsilateral eye often has pigment spots.
Through the above introduction, I believe everyone has understood how to judge coffee spots. After the judgment, the patient can be treated by corresponding methods. After treatment, patients should pay attention to sun protection, try to reduce ultraviolet radiation, and it is best to take an umbrella or sun protection clothes when going out. Pay attention to the hygiene and cleanliness of the skin, and avoid scratching when itching.
