Eggplant likes high temperatures. The suitable temperature for seed germination is 25 ~ 30℃. The suitable temperature for seedling development is 25 ~ 30℃ during the day and 15 ~ 20℃ at night. Below 15°C, eggplant grows slowly, causing flowers to drop. Metabolic disorders below 10°C. Let’s take a look at how to cultivate eggplant in greenhouses.
1. Sowing and raising seedlings
1. Prepare nutrient soil. Mix 1 part of fertile sterile fine soil and 1 part of decomposed round fertilizer evenly and sieve. Add 0.5 kg of compound fertilizer and 80 g of 50% carbendazim to each cubic meter of nutrient soil. The thickness of the nutrient soil in the seedbed should be 10-15 cm.
2. Seed treatment. Soak the seeds in 100 times formaldehyde solution for 15 minutes, then soak in 60°C water for about 15 minutes, then soak in 30°C water for 8 hours, and place them in a ventilated and warm place (above 30°C) to germinate until the seeds turn white.
3. Sowing. Water the soles of the feet before sowing, and after sowing, sprinkle a layer of 1 cm thick fine soil on top, place a small shed on the seed bed, and roll up the lower film by 35 cm to 40 cm to prevent corrosion from high temperatures and heavy rain at noon.
4. Seedling management. The optimal temperature during the seedling stage is 24°C ~ 30°C during the day and 18°C ??~ 24°C at night. Water once before planting and do not water for 5 to 7 days after planting.
2. Temperature management: No ventilation or little ventilation within a week after planting to increase ground temperature and promote seedling slowing down. After the seedlings resume growth, proper ventilation and cooling are required to prevent the seedlings from growing in vain and keep the seedlings short, fat and dark purple. After entering the fruiting period, as the outside temperature increases and the amount of water poured increases, the ventilation volume will also increase.
3. Water and fertilizer management: After planting, pour small amounts of water once a week, that is, seedling slowing water. In the future, we will focus on controlling moisture and squatting seedlings to promote root development. When most of the eggplants begin to swell, stop squatting, water them with fruit-stimulating water, and apply a small amount of quick-acting fertilizer. Eggplants can be sealed after harvesting, and 20 kilograms of ammonium bicarbonate or 50 kilograms of dry-rotted chicken manure should be used for sealing. After entering the harvest period, due to the increase in temperature and ventilation, moisture management should be strengthened to increase yield.
IV. Pest Control
Eggplant diseases include cotton fusarium wilt (egg drop, rotten eggplant) and brown streak disease. You can use 75% chlorothalonil or 80% zinc 500 times liquid, or Jiejunte 400 times liquid for prevention and treatment. In addition, there is Verticillium wilt (fusarium wilt, black heart disease), which usually occurs seriously in continuous cropping fields. When planting, you can use 500 times carbendazim to prevent root irrigation. If diseased strains have been found, spray 500 times carbendazim. The main pests are aphids and red spider mites, which can be controlled 700-1500 times with dimethoate.
