Usage and dosage: General dosage: 3 to 10 grams, decoct and take.
Efficacy: Safflower has the effects of activating blood circulation, promoting menstruation, removing blood stasis and relieving pain. It can be used to treat amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, lochia, bruises, etc. Safflower has a strong blood-activating effect and should not be used by patients with various bleeding disorders. It should not be used by pregnant women. Use with caution if you experience nosebleeds, prolonged or early menstruation, drowsiness, listlessness, dry mouth, pink urine, or allergies after taking safflower.
Treatment formula
1. To treat women with premature menstruation, excessive blood, thick and purple color, and abdominal pain: 6 grams of safflower, 9 grams each of peach kernel, white peony root, and angelica root. Rehmannia glutinosa 12 grams. Decoct in water, remove residue, extract juice and drink warmly. (From "Yi Lei Yuan Rong", recorded in "Yuji Weiyi" Taohong Siwu Decoction) 2. Treat dysmenorrhea: 9 grams each of safflower, angelica, rehmannia root, and achyranthes, 12 grams of peach kernel, citrus aurantium, red peony root, and licorice 6 grams each, Bupleurum 3 grams, Platycodon and Chuanxiong 4.5 grams each. Decoct in water, remove residue, extract juice and drink warmly.
