Once upon a time, students were selected by the imperial examinations to enter the civil service. The poem "Poem of the Prodigy" has the following words: "When the young man first ascended to the first rank, the emperor was pleased to return to the palace, and the three-foot wave of the Yumen Gate made a thunderous sound on the flat ground." Yumen is the Dragon Gate in the northwest of Hejin County, Shanxi Province. Legend has it that if a carp jumps over the Dragon Gate, it becomes a dragon, and later generations likened the imperial examinations to the "carp jumping over the Dragon Gate". The picture shows the children's fish lantern dance, which represents this episode.
