Steps to make a fish bone diagram:

First draw a main bone and fish head. The fish head can be made by yourself or purchased online. The fish head in the picture below was made with PPt software.

Write the problem to be solved above the fish head.

When drawing large bones, usually six large bones are drawn, at an angle of 60 degrees to the main bone. These six bones are the six aspects of analyzing the problem, "people, machines, materials, methods, environment, and measurement", which is "5M1E".

Convene meetings and use brainstorming to review problems. Ask as many possible reasons for the problem as possible, and do not object or attack during the process. Organize and list all the reasons, discuss them together, and remove duplicate and meaningless reasons.

Category the main reasons according to "people, machines, materials, methods, environment, and measurement" and fill in the six major bones respectively, and then discuss them one by one to find out the most likely reasons and label them.
