Correcting hypoxia is an important measure to treat severe carbon monoxide poisoning. Patients with mild and moderate poisoning can be given large flow of oxygen, and severe poisoning needs hyperbaric oxygen treatment. Hyperbaric oxygen chamber treatment can not only increase dissolved oxygen in blood, improve arterial oxygen partial pressure, and quickly correct tissue hypoxia, but also accelerate the dissociation of carboxyhemoglobin and promote the discharge of carbon monoxide.
