Fruit-eating birds with bright feathers in subtropical forests. The largest parrot is a purple-blue macaw with a body length of 100 cm, and the smallest parrot is a blue-crowned macaw with a body length of only 12 cm. These parrots carry nesting materials in a special way. Instead of using a curved and powerful beak, they stuff nesting materials into short tail feathers.
habitat
Parrot species mainly live in lowland tropical forests and often fly to orchards, farmland and open grasslands. There are few species of parrots, which are mainly distributed in mountainous areas, such as Papuan Honey-sucking Parrot, John Honey-sucking Parrot and China Big-breasted Parrot. They usually live in small groups with their spouses and family members, inhabiting branches in the forest and taking tree holes as their nests.
