The main food of small yellow croaker is planktonic crustaceans, and it also preys on decapods and other young fish. Distributed in the Pacific Northwest, including the coastal areas of China, North Korea and South Korea. In China, it is distributed in Bohai Sea, East China Sea and southern Yellow Sea.
