Bullacta exarata is a typical benthic reptile in intertidal zone, which is distributed in the coastal areas of China, mostly inhabiting the intertidal zone, silt or beaches at the middle and bottom, especially in the bays with small waves and slow tidal current, with the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea producing the most.
Philippi (English name say'spaper-bubble, Latin name Bullactaexarata) belongs to mollusca, Gastropoda, Hemipoda, Cephalopoda, Adipodidae and Bullactaexarata (the only species of Bullactaexarata), belonging to the west coast of the Pacific Ocean. China mainly produces mud snails in Ningbo and Donggang, Liaoning.
When peach blossoms are in full bloom, the quality of mud snails is the best. At this time, the mud snail just has long hair, no mud in the body, aseptic and delicious. Although the "osmanthus snail" produced in Mid-Autumn Festival is not as good as the "peach snail" produced in March of the lunar calendar, it is also rich in fat and extremely delicious. Bullacta exarata is rich in protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron and vitamins.
The way of eating, snail meat is refreshing and nutritious. You can cook porridge and stir-fry snail meat. It can be processed into canned snails with salt and wine stains, or it can be eaten raw with cooking wine after washing. Processed snail meat is sold to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and Southeast Asia, and frozen snail meat slices are also popular in European and American markets.
