Chaoshan area is the Eight Towns of Chaozhou, which is called Chaoshan for short. It is the collective name of Shantou, Chaozhou and Jieyang.

It is an area with Chaoshan people as the main ethnic group, and it is the birthplace of Chaoshan people and Chaoshan merchants all over the world.
