Four methods of cutting propagation of Prunus tomentosa 1
There are many propagation methods of Prunus tomentosa. Usually, cutting propagation in time requires picking strong branches, disinfecting the branches with carbendazim, preparing loose and fertile soil, cutting the branches into pot soil and waiting patiently for the branches to take root.
2, sowing and breeding
In fact, in the propagation mode of Prunus tomentosa, seeds can also be soaked in clear water for half a day, which needs to be put in a cool place to dry, sown in loose pot soil, covered with a layer of soil with a thickness of 1cm, which can be properly watered to promote seeds to take root and sprout quickly in the pot soil.
3. Grafting propagation
First of all, we need to find rootstocks belonging to the same family for Prunus tomentosa, and we need to select branches that are not harmed by pests and diseases. We need to carve a small mouth at the top of the rhizome and cut its branches obliquely, then we can cut its branches into the rhizome and wrap them with plastic film until the branches are connected with the wound of the rhizome.
4. Layered propagation
In fact, Prunus tomentosa can also be propagated by layering. Choose plants that have been growing for more than two years, peel them from the branches near the roots and nodes, wrap the wound with gauze, and wrap them with pot soil or velvet grass suitable for growth. After the wound takes root, it can be intercepted and re-potted for maintenance.
