Around July, fresh lotus roots came into the market, and the lotus seeds were fresh and tender, especially suitable for porridge and soup.
Cooking lotus seed porridge is very simple, that is, adding fragrant lotus seeds when cooking porridge. It can be made sweet or salty.
The cooked porridge is fresh and delicious, calming the nerves and reducing the fire, and it tastes different in summer.
Office workers or elderly people who can't sleep well and get hot easily in summer, come and try it ~
Prepare ingredients:
3 fresh lotus seeds, about 200g of rice, and appropriate amount of water.
Exercise:
1, soak rice for more than 2 hours in advance, and you can put it in the refrigerator for one night.
The soaked rice is best cooked in a casserole.
2. Wash the three lotus seeds, peel off the skin of the lotus seeds, then peel off the skin and take out the lotus seed meat.
Lotus plumule is bitter, you can go or not.
3, prepare a few small red dates, I use Xinjiang Ruoqiang grey dates, small, especially sweet to eat directly.
If you use ordinary dates, you need to soak them in advance.
4. Put the soaked rice into the casserole and add enough water for at least two and a half knuckles.
5, put the casserole on the stove, open the fire to boil, and pour in fresh lotus seeds.
Turn to low heat and cook for about 20 minutes until the porridge is soft and rotten.
6. Cut the red dates into cubes, sprinkle them on the porridge and stir well.
If you use dried dates, put them in two minutes in advance and cook them with porridge for about 2 minutes.
This porridge tastes fresh and elegant as a whole. If you feel dull, you can add some honey and mix well.
After being refrigerated in the refrigerator, the taste is better ~
Like to eat salty food, you can also eat it without red dates, or add a little rubbing salt, which tastes good ~
Tips:
1, you can't have too few lotus seeds, otherwise you won't be able to drink that freshness; I cooked less than 200g of rice, almost the amount of 5 bowls of porridge, and used 3 shower heads.
2. Lotus plumule is bitter, but the effect of clearing away heat and calming the nerves is better. It doesn't matter whether you go or not, it won't affect the taste of porridge, but if you don't go, you should pay attention when eating. My husband and I eat lotus seeds together, and my daughter only chooses half when she eats them.
The function of red dates in this porridge is to add a little sweetness when eating. In order not to affect the freshness of porridge itself, I didn't put red dates in it to cook; You can decide whether to cook red dates together according to your own preferences.
4. If you like Lycium barbarum, you can also add some Lycium barbarum to the porridge.
If you don't like sweet porridge, don't put red dates. You can eat it with some side dishes, or add a little salt to the porridge, which tastes good.
6. For friends who don't want to bother, just pour rice, lotus seeds and water into the rice cooker and cook it (but I think the taste is still slightly different).
It's just right to eat fresh lotus seeds in July. In late August, lotus seeds will slowly start to get old. Don't miss this early adopter time ~
