What's the difference between a belt scale and a batching scale?
The name of the product is just a name for this product, and there is not much conflict in practical sense. For example, in the cement industry, the equipment for measuring fly ash is called fly ash scale, the equipment for measuring pulverized coal is called pulverized coal scale, and the equipment for batching is called batching scale. However, as we all know, the names of equipment in the industry are just aliases of some manufacturers of production equipment, so to a great extent, many people take belt scales and batching scales seriously. Let's talk about the belt scale first. Although the belt scale is a weighing device, it is not composed of belts. The main structure of belt scale is idler, which is mainly used with belt conveyor. When the material on the belt conveyor passes through the scale, the weight of the material acts on the load sensor through the weighing frame, and the load sensor outputs a voltage signal proportional to the material quality. So the weighing device under the belt scale will get a signal to calculate the weight of materials on the belt scale, and the belt scale is only used for weighing. The batching scale is a kind of quantitative feeder, which transports materials through a belt. An electronic weighing device is installed below the conveyor belt of the batching scale. The weight of the material on the belt acts on the load cell, generating an electrical signal proportional to the weight of the material, which is recorded in the system controller. At the same time, the speed sensor installed on the driven roller measures the running speed of the belt and sends it to the system controller. By integrating the weight signal and speed signal of the material, the instantaneous flow rate of the material and the cumulative total amount of the material can be calculated. The similarity between belt scale and batching scale lies in that both can realize the functions of weighing and metering, but batching scale can complete the work of conveying and metering at the same time. The biggest difference between belt scale and batching scale should be whether there is a belt conveyor on site.
