Plant characteristics of cistanche deserticola
Family and genus: Cistanche deserticola, a perennial herb with massive roots, fleshy stems, scaly leaves, yellowish brown leaves and stems, and deep purple flowers.
Variety: Cistanche deserticola is divided into four types: desert (Haloxylon ammodendron, a plant parasitic in arid desert), halophyte (a shrub parasitic in saline-alkali land), tube flower (a wetland plant of Salix) and psammophyte.
Origin: mainly produced in Xinjiang, Alashan League in Inner Mongolia, Gansu and Ningxia, but also distributed.

Cistanche deserticola can grow to a height of 80- 100cm, without branches, and the flesh of the stem is very fat. The flowers of cistanche deserticola are spike-shaped and grow at the top. There are buds under the flower, and the back hair is generally twice as long as the flower stem.
Color: Cistanche deserticola has two colors, one is yellow-brown and the other is black. Black cistanche deserticola is processed, not because of deterioration.

Seed appearance: the seed is oval and brown, with two petals and hundreds of oval seeds. One end is dark brown, sharp and small, which looks like a net or honeycomb under the microscope.
