About diet: the life span of rats and mice is only 2~3 years, so it is not too much for them to eat well. Rats are omnivores and eat almost everything, but foods like snacks eaten by humans are not natural ~ ~ The staple food is whole grains, and there is special rat food ~ Relatively expensive rat food is better! It is not recommended to eat more fruits and vegetables, which are easy to have diarrhea. Just eat a little ~ melon seeds, peanuts, breadworms, dried fish and dried shrimps, which are easy to get angry, are not recommended to eat more. All of the above must be for hamsters, not dried fish and shrimp eaten by humans! Hamsters like snacks best ~ Hamsters have many kinds of snacks, so be careful not to give them more, because they are snacks ~ ~ ~
Water content of hamster: You can buy a hamster-specific kettle filled with water. Note that water must be boiled in cold water! Cold weather can bring water temperature, but it must not be too hot! Be sure to fill it with water, or it will leak easily! And it is best to change the water once every two days (the kettle can be fixed on the cage)
Hamster habits:
1. The hamster is Nocturnal Animals. It sleeps during the day and moves at night. They are usually most active before 7 ~ 10 (some 0 ~ 4 o'clock) in the evening. So feeding is mainly to let the mice have a good rest during the day and play with them at night. Changing Nocturnal Animals's habits at will will easily lead to short life, so don't disturb them during the day!
Hamsters are good at digging caves. I like to hide food on both sides of my cheeks and then go to a safe place to spit it out, so I got the name hamster. Their front teeth will continue to grow, so their upper and lower front teeth must constantly chew something hard to grind their teeth. On the one hand, it is to prevent the front teeth from growing too long and hinder chewing, on the other hand, it is also to keep the front teeth sharp.
3, (and most importantly! Hamsters are solitary animals, different from social animals. Hamsters are loners and have a strong sense of territory, especially female hamsters. Hamsters mate in pairs only when the breeding season comes. But the hamster couple only live for a few minutes during mating, and then they go their separate ways. The mother mouse will take care of the child independently. In about 20 days, the child will be forcibly expelled from the mother warehouse and begin to live independently. It can be seen that hamsters, whether male or female, parents, brothers and sisters, cannot be raised together in adulthood, which is easy to cause death and injury. The correct way is to keep them in a cage separately. Please always remember that solitary animals do not feel lonely, and they will never be willing to share their territory and food. It is absolutely not advisable to impose our human thoughts on hamsters and do things that go against their nature.
