Such as acute urethritis and acute cystitis, it will be manifested as painful urination, or a burning or hot feeling, and then frequent urination, urgency, and even hematuria in severe cases.
Extended data
Urethra refers to the tube from the bladder to the outside of the body.
The male urethra is slender, about 18cm long, starting from the internal urethral orifice of the bladder and ending at the external urethral orifice. The male urethra has both urination and spermatorrhea functions. Female urethra is thick and short, about 5cm long, starting from the internal orifice of urethra and opening to the vaginal vestibule.
The anterior urethra is about 15 cm long from the urethral orifice to the bulbus, and is surrounded by urethral cavernous body, which is attached to the shallow grooves of two penile cavernous bodies. This urethra can move, so it is not easy to be injured. The two ends of the anterior urethra are enlarged, one is located at the urethral orifice, called navicular fossa, and the other is located at the bulbus of urethra.
The posterior urethra is about 4 cm long from membranous part to the neck of bladder. Membranous part is the shortest, only about 1 cm, located between two layers of triangular ligament, surrounded by striated muscle, namely external sphincter, which is the most fixed and weak section. Improper use of urethral instruments is easy to be injured, and it is also the most vulnerable part when the perineum is violently squeezed. The urethra and prostate are about 3 cm long, which is the widest part of the whole urethra from the triangular ligament through the whole gland to the bladder neck. In the center of the posterior wall of this section of urethra, there is a bulge called urethral crest or seminal vesicle, and there is a recess in the middle of it. There are ejaculatory duct openings on both sides of the recess, and the prostatic tubules open in the grooves on both sides of the seminal vesicle.
The prostate is the part where the urethra passes through the prostate, and the lumen is the widest, about 2.5cm long. There is a longitudinal ridge on the posterior wall, which is called urethral ridge, and the middle part of the ridge is called seminal vesicle. There is a small depression in the center of the seminal vesicle, called prostatic capsule. There are a pair of tiny ejaculatory orifices on both sides, and there are many openings of prostatic excretory ducts on the urethral mucosa near the seminal vesicle. The membranous part is the part where the urethra passes through the urogenital diaphragm, surrounded by membranous part sphincter, and the lumen is narrow, which is the shortest of the three parts, about1.2 cm long; Cavernous body is the part of urethra that passes through urethral cavernous body.
