The difference between rhinitis and sinusitis;
Rhinitis and sinusitis are acute and chronic. What we usually call catching a cold, that is, stuffy nose, sneezing, runny nose and decreased sense of smell, are the manifestations of acute rhinitis.
1, in acute rhinitis, if it is not treated properly, the inflammation of nasal mucosa can spread to the sinuses through the opening of the sinuses, causing acute inflammation of the mucosa in the sinuses, which is acute sinusitis. The main symptoms are stuffy nose, runny nose and headache.
2. If acute rhinitis and acute sinusitis recur, chronic rhinitis and chronic sinusitis can finally be formed.
3. The symptom of chronic rhinitis is that the nose is not ventilated or the two nostrils alternate with poor ventilation and mucus nose.
4, and chronic sinusitis is often white thick nose, yellow purulent nose after a cold, and decreased sense of smell.
CT scan of paranasal sinuses can clearly diagnose chronic sinusitis and rhinitis as inflammation of nasal cavity, and paranasal sinuses as inflammation in sinus cavity.
In terms of treatment, the main symptom of chronic rhinitis is poor nasal ventilation. If regular drug treatment fails, surgery should be considered.
