Cultivation techniques of Ilex dauricus;
Sowing technique
Red holly is propagated mainly by sowing, but also by cutting.
(1) Seeding and propagation: after the fruits are ripe in autumn, they are harvested, peeled and washed, and the seeds are treated with wet sand at low temperature to accelerate germination, and then planted before March of the following spring. Seedling growth is slow and needs careful maintenance and management. Holly seeds usually germinate every other year if they don't germinate.
(2) Cutting propagation: in rainy season, it is advisable to adopt the softwood cutting, the cutting length is 6-8cm, the lower leaves are cut off, the upper leaves are left with 1-2 leaves, and the cuttings are cut short with 1/3. After soaking in 200 mg/L NAA solution for 3 hours, the cutting depth is 1/2, and the cutting depth is 1/2, which is between sand or perlite and peat soil (sand, perlite and peat soil
Cultivation management
Conventional cultivation management: after the seedlings are cultivated in the nursery for 2 ~ 3 years, they can be transplanted and planted. Transplanting should be carried out in spring, and the roots should not be damaged when digging seedlings, and the seedlings should be transplanted with soil. Attention should be paid to weeding in intertillage during initial planting, sparing water during drought and strengthening management.
disease control
Holly is vulnerable to the harm of white wax insects, and it is prone to soot disease between dense branches and scorched skins. It seems that attention should be paid to timely prevention and control. In cold places in winter, measures such as piling up soil to prevent cold can be taken. The disease is mainly leaf spot, which can be controlled by carbendazim and chlorothalonil.
Harvest and storage
It can be harvested all year round, the leaves are fresh or dry, and the roots are washed and dried.
