Pharmacological effects

Orally not easily absorbed by the intestinal tract, stays in the intestinal lumen, the osmolality of intestinal contents rise, so that the intestinal lumen retains a large amount of water, the volume increases, and stimulate the intestinal wall to increase intestinal peristalsis and lead to diarrhea. It is a severe laxative, mainly used for removing poison in the intestinal tract, and also used to induce diarrhea after some anthelmintic drugs, and treat constipation.

Injections can inhibit the central nervous system, block the peripheral neuromuscular junction and produce sedation, antispasmodic, relaxation of bone and bribery muscles, can also reduce intracranial pressure. The effect on the cardiovascular system, excess magnesium ions can directly diastole peripheral vascular smooth muscle, so that vasodilatation, blood pressure decreased.

Indications

1. Used for constipation, abnormal fermentation in the intestines, can also be used in conjunction with insect repellents; combined with activated charcoal, can treat food or drug poisoning. 2.For obstructive jaundice and chronic cholecystitis. 3. For convulsions, eclampsia, uremia, tetanus, hypertensive encephalopathy and acute renal hypertensive crisis. 4. It is also used in patients with angina pectoris who have frequent attacks and the effect of other treatments is not good, and it is more effective in patients with hypertension. 5. Apply hot compress externally to reduce inflammation and swelling.

Dosage

1. Diarrhea: each oral 5-20g, usually early in the morning on an empty stomach, while drinking 100-400ml of water, can also be dissolved in water and taken. 2. Cholagogue: 2-5g each time, 3 times a day, before meals or between meals. Can also take 33% solution, 10ml each time. 3. anticonvulsant, blood pressure, etc.: intramuscular injection of 25% solution, 4 ~ 10ml each time; or 25% solution 10ml with 5% ~ 10% glucose injection diluted into 1% or 5% concentration after static drip; treatment of angina pectoris can be 10% solution 10ml with 5% ~ 10% glucose injection 10ml diluted with a slow static injection once a day, for 10 days. 10 days.

Precautions 1. When diarrhea is induced, if a large amount of solution with too high concentration is taken, a large amount of water may be absorbed from the tissues and lead to dehydration. 2. Because intravenous injection is more dangerous, it should be used by experienced physicians, injected slowly, and pay attention to the patient's breathing and blood pressure. In case of poisoning (e.g. respiratory muscle paralysis, etc.), 10% calcium gluconate injection 10 ml of static injection can be used for rescue. 3. Intestinal bleeding patients, patients with acute abdomen, pregnant women, menstruating women are prohibited to use this product for diarrhea. 4. It is not suitable for patients with central inhibitory drugs (such as phenobarbital) poisoning to remove the poison to prevent aggravation of central inhibition.

Adverse reactions

If the concentration is too high during diarrhea, it can cause dehydration; if there are ulcers and breaks in the gastrointestinal tract, it can easily lead to a large amount of magnesium ion absorption and cause poisoning.
