Flower fish actually refers to perch, which is a fish of the genus Perch in the family Cyprinidae of the order Cypriniformes. There are three common types, namely Sand Perch, Flowered Perch and Back Perch. Among them, the golden sand bass carp mainly lives in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and its direct current, the flower bass carp lives in Fuxian Lake, and the back bass carp mostly lives in the water system of the Lancang River, with a body length of up to about 60 centimeters. This type of fish has a fierce personality and mostly feeds on small fish.
Appearance characteristics:
Percocypris pingi has a slightly flattened body, a larger head, a pointed front end, a flat and wide backside of the head, and a bulge at the back and back of the head. The mouth is subsuperior, obliquely cleft, and the mandible is prominent. There are 2 pairs of barbels, the muzzle barbels are slightly shorter than the chin barbels. The gill slits are large, and the gill membranes on both sides are very close to each other at the gill isthmus. The dorsal fin spines are weak and the trailing edge has fine teeth.
The scales are smaller, and the scales on the chest and abdomen are even smaller, buried shallowly under the skin, and the lateral line is slightly downward curved. The back of the body is blue-gray, and the sides and abdomen are white; most of the scales on the side of the body have a black edge, so they form neat straight stripes on the side of the body, and there are scattered small black spots on the head and back.
The dorsal fin, pectoral fin and caudal fin are slightly black. The morphological difference between P.pingi regani and another subspecies of P.pingi regani is that there are many scattered black spots on the sides of the body, which do not form straight stripes. The distance between the end of the pelvic fin and the starting point of the anal fin is less than the length of the snout.
