Chemical components include alkaloids, oils, protein and amino acids.

Pharmacological effect 1. antiasthmatic effect, 4ml of 40% ethanol extract of Oryza sativa L. and 2.4ml of total amino acids extracted from Oryza sativa L. by ion exchange method have good preventive effects on asthma induced by histamine phosphate inhalation in guinea pigs; Both the ethanol extract and the crude extract of total amino acids of the worm have obvious spasmolytic effects on histamine-induced tracheal smooth muscle spasm in isolated guinea pigs. The experimental results show that the total amino acids contained in cereal worms are effective components for relieving asthma.

2. As for intestinal smoothness, the ethanol extract and the crude extract of total amino acids of the worm have obvious spasmodic effects on histamine-induced ileal smooth muscle spasm in isolated rabbits and guinea pigs.

3. Toxicity: The toxicity of the five-grain worm is small, and the mice were gavaged at a dose of 36g/kg (450 times that of humans) without any toxic reaction, and no death was observed for 3 days.
