What are the lyrics to Catching Loach?

The lyrics to "Catching Loaches" are as follows:

The pond is full of water and the rain has stopped.

The mud at the edge of the field is full of loaches.

Everyday I waited for you to catch the loaches.

Let's go catch some loaches, okay, big brother?

The calf's brother, take him to catch the loach.

Let's go and catch the loach.

The pond was full and the rain had stopped.

The mud at the edge of the field was full of loaches.

Every day I waited for you to catch loaches.

Let's go catch some loaches, okay, big brother?

The calf's brother, take him to catch the loach.

Let's go and catch the loach.

Songwriting Background

This is the first song written by Hou Dejian, a friend of Bao Meisheng's from the same village, who has never received any orthodox music education, and wrote this song in a haphazard manner without much effort. The first version of Xiao Niu's brother was originally Xiao Mao's brother, and the Taiwanese authorities failed to pass the review, so he casually changed it to Xiao Niu's brother, and it passed in a haphazard manner. The song is childish and fun, and is one of Hou Dejian's few works in the vernacular folk style.

At a concert, Hou Dejian and Pao Mei-sheng sang the song "Catch the Loach" in succession, with very different flavors; one was really a big brother, and the other was a little sister begging her big brother to take her to catch the loach. Later, when Pao Mei Sheng recorded the song "Catching Loach", he couldn't help crying. Not because she was moved by the song, but because it was so much like a children's song that it made her feel humiliated.
