Carassius auratus belongs to Anabaena, a small freshwater fish in Asia of Perciformes. Originated in South China, Malaysia, India and other countries. Distributed in Asia, from southeast China to India, it is an endemic genus in Asia. There are only two kinds of Anabas in the world, and there is only one kind of Anabas in China. Its Latin name is Anabas testudineus (Bloch, 1792), which is distributed in the lower reaches of major rivers and adjacent wetlands and rice fields in Hongkong, Fujian, Guangxi, Taiwan Province, Macau, Hainan Island and Yunnan Province, and belongs to China native fish. Known for its tenacious vitality and ability to crawl on land, it was first introduced to the aquarium near London Zoo at 1870, and is a well-known ornamental fish popular overseas.
